User Agreement

1. What this agreement covers

This agreement applies to Grainy. Grainy lets you take a photo on your phone, add a film look, and then keep the photo or discard it.

Using Grainy means you accept this agreement.

2. The looks are simulated

Names in the app describe a look. They are not tied to any film maker. Grain, haze, glow, and color shift are made on your phone. Grainy does not promise that a photo will match a real film, a lab, or a print on real paper.

3. Photos and notes are yours

The photos you take and the notes you write belong to you.

A photo you choose to keep is saved on this phone. A photo you discard is not kept. Notes are saved on this phone as well.

Opening the description of a look does not change the look you are using.

4. Local content can disappear

Photos and notes stay only inside the app on this phone. Removing the app can delete them. If you want a copy outside the app, save the important photos to the system album.

A photo that was never saved to the system album can be lost if you remove the app or clear the phone.

5. Camera and photo library

You cannot take a photo until you allow the camera. The sample photo, and a photo you pick from your library, can still be processed.

The photo library is used in only two cases: you pick one photo from the system window, or you ask to save a photo to the system album. You can refuse these permissions. The rest of the app can still open.

6. In-app purchase

Some looks can be used right away. Others need a purchase first.

What you buy is credit for use inside the app. It is not cash. It cannot be given to someone else, exchanged for money, or moved to another phone.

Purchases go through Apple. After you confirm, Apple charges you. The amount is the price on Apple’s payment sheet. Grainy does not touch your payment account, and it does not receive your card number or payment password.

If the purchase needs someone else’s approval, such as a parent in Family Sharing, it is added on this phone only after that approval. If you cancel, nothing is added.

The purchase is recorded on this phone. The same transaction is not added twice. When credit is used, it comes off the balance, and the look is marked as available on this phone.

There is no account. The balance and unlocked looks cannot move to another phone. After you remove the app, change phones, or clear the phone, unused credit and unlocked looks may be gone. Please check before you buy.

Refunds follow Apple’s rules. Grainy cannot return money you have already paid from inside the app.

7. Voice feedback

The microphone is used only for voice feedback.

8. How to use Grainy

Take and handle only photos and words you have a right to use. Do not use Grainy to harass someone. Where the law requires another person’s agreement, do not photograph them without it. Do not use Grainy to break the law.

9. No account

Grainy does not ask you to register, and it has no profile page.

10. The app as installed

The phone can run out of space, a save can fail, and the phone can lose a local photo. A look can also be a poor fit for a particular shot.

To the extent the law allows, Grainy is the version you installed. It does not promise that every process will succeed, or that every look will suit what you are doing.

11. If this agreement changes

If this agreement changes, the effective date under the title changes with it. If you keep using Grainy after that date, you accept the updated agreement.
